This group develops next-generation electronic systems, satellite payloads, and resilient space architectures supporting national security missions. As a Space Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in analyzing and testing how space environments impact advanced systems-specifically in areas such as electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and radiation effects. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that blends systems engineering, experimental testing, and data analysis. What You'll Do Analyze and evaluate space environmental effects, including EMI/EMC and radiation impacts Design and execute test plans, including environmental and hardware-in-the-loop testing Perform system-level analysis, modeling, and simulation Collect, interpret, and report on complex technical data Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams Develop technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders Support field exercises, technical briefings, and program reviews (occasional travel required) What You Bring Education & Experience PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience Technical Expertise (experience in at least two preferred) Electromagnetics and/or space radiation effects RF systems or high-speed digital system design, fabrication, and testing Space systems engineering (vehicle design, environment analysis, operations) Environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, payload integration) Test design, procedure development, and execution Core Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities Experience with data analysis and technical problem solving Programming proficiency (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++) Ability to develop automated analysis tools and reporting solutions Professional Strengths Clear and concise communication across technical and non-technical audiences Ability to lead or contribute to multidisciplinary teams Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges Adaptability and ability to quickly learn advanced technical concepts Security Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance (required) Active Top Secret clearance is highly desired U.S. citizenship required Benefits This role offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance, including: Medical, dental, and vision coverage Retirement benefits including pension and 401(k) with employer match Generous paid time off (vacation, sick leave, parental leave, and more) Tuition reimbursement and continuing education opportunities Mentorship and professional development programs Flexible work-life balance options Compensation Recent Graduates: $145,200 - $170,000 Experienced Candidates: $145,200 - $220,000 Additional Information Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity considerations Pre-employment background investigation required Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, veteran status, disability status, or genetic information.
