Overview
We're seeking a Safety Critical Software Engineer - Lead to join a high-impact engineering team developing robust, compliant, and reliable safety-critical systems. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in technical leadership, hands on development, and ensuring safety compliance across the full software lifecycle.
You'll lead the design, implementation, and validation of safety critical software supporting mission critical operations while collaborating with cross functional teams to uphold the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of safety-critical software applications from concept through deployment.
- Design software models using tools such as Simulink or SCADE, translating them into efficient C/C++ implementations.
- Develop and manage Level of Rigor artifacts to ensure compliance with safety and certification standards.
- Collaborate with systems, testing, and development teams to integrate and validate safety-related features.
- Serve as a technical authority for safety-critical processes, documentation, and design reviews.
- Participate in compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure adherence to applicable safety regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in systems safety software engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in safety-critical software development and model-based design (Simulink, SCADE).
- Demonstrated ability to produce compliance documentation supporting safety certification.
- Strong background collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 automotive safety standard.
- Understanding of MIL-STD-882E and its application in safety engineering.
- Experience working in ASIL D environments or equivalent high-integrity systems.
- Background in embedded, aerospace, or defense software development.
