Senior Software Engineer - Wallet Core (Wallet Core Team)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Onsite: Full time at BitGo's San Francisco office.
BitGo is a leading digital asset infrastructure provider. This position focuses on building an API first platform to help businesses launch crypto products.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable APIs, libraries and services for an API first platform
- Own features from inception to deployment and customer integration
- Expose and document functionality to UI, third party developers and internal tooling
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define, design and ship new features
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
- Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Work closely with product managers, designers and engineers to refine requirements
- Mentor peers through code reviews and best practice education
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 6 years of back end/server side development experience
- Strong algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
- Expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Experience with JVM languages (Kotlin or Java) is preferred
- RESTful API design expertise
- Microservices and service oriented architecture experience
- Unit and functional testing, debugging
- Git/GitHub, branching, code review tools, CI tools
- A fast paced, adaptable mindset
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field
- Understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building consumer facing crypto products
- Proven track record of public facing API deployment
- Microservice development in Spring
- Full stack experience, familiarity with React
- Client or business partner engagement experience
- Familiarity with digital wallets, clearing/settlement, lending, trading, accounting systems

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 USD; equity, annual performance bonuses and additional benefits are included.
