Job Title: Senior Oracle DBA Location: Washington DC Description: OCTO is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain the central Oracle environment for the District. The resource must have experience with upgrading core versions of Oracle database and managing a highly available environment. Responsibilities: Plans, organizes, and implements projects in support of District's growing information demands. Ensures the effective use of District resources. Contributes to policies for effective process planning as it relates to new requirements. Possesses expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for the end user. Participates in short-term tactical planning implementation. Contributes to long-term strategic planning. Skills Required: 10 years' Expertise with Oracle database architecture 10 years' Expertise with Oracle 12c or higher 10 years' Expertise with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies 10 years' Expertise with tuning Oracle databases (query/indexes/memory/IO/storage) 10 years' Expertise with Oracle RAC and highly available environments 10 years' Expertise with Oracle database failovers 10 years' Expertise writing complex SQL and functions, triggers and objects 10 years' Expertise with tuning Oracle databases (queries/indexes/memory/IO/storage) 10 years' Expertise with troubleshooting Oracle databases 10 years' Expertise with upgrading Oracle databases 10 years' Expertise with security for Oracle databases 5 years' Knowledge of operating Oracle databases in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS 5 years' Knowledge of automation and DevOps for databases 10 years' Experience with database design, documentation, and coding 10 years' Experience with designing and implementing reports and report interfaces 10 years' SQL experience Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience Oracle Certified Professional or higher
