Presidio is seeking a Travel IT Technician for the Charlotte, NC area. Presidio is serving as a foundational support for an organization's IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks within an organization. Technicians work under the supervision of more experienced administrators or engineers, assisting with day-to-day tasks and gaining hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities Support: General support, troubleshooting and incident response Cable Management: Assisting with the organization and labeling of network cables in server rooms and wiring closets. Installation and Setup: Assemble, install, and configure new computer systems, peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors), telepresence and network devices (routers, switches). Procedure Documentation: Helping to create or update documentation for hardware inventory Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems (Windows, macOS) and various software applications, including business-specific programs Certifications (Recommended): CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Technical Skills: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP Familiarity with common network protocols (HTTP, FTP, SSH, RDP) Knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) Knowledge of computer hardware Knowledge of Windows OS and installation procedures Required Skills and Professional Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience 1-3 years of experience in computer repair or networking Soft Skills: Problem-Solving: Eagerness to diagnose and resolve technical issues Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with users and team members Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in following procedures and documenting work Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other IT professionals Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills in networking
