Public Safety Intern - Aviation Emergency Management & Communications Location: Dallas, TX 75235 Onsite COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE • $22/hour • 8:00AM-5:00PM • Internship W2 • Start date June 2026 ROLE IMPACT This internship provides hands-on experience in Aviation Emergency Management and Airport Communications Operations within a dynamic airport environment. The intern will rotate through the Airport Communications Center (ACC) and Aviation Emergency Management, supporting public safety initiatives that enhance preparedness, response coordination, and operational effectiveness. Success in this role means contributing to emergency planning efforts, supporting communication operations, and assisting with public safety programs that ensure a safe airport environment. Key Responsibilities • Assist with emergency management planning, training, and exercise development to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities • Support the Airport Communications Center (ACC) by shadowing dispatchers, monitoring aviation communication systems, and learning incident coordination processes • Conduct research, compile reports, and assist with data collection for public safety programs and operational improvements • Observe and support emergency response activities during drills, special events, and real-time incidents • Assist with stakeholder engagement and public safety education and outreach initiatives Minimum Qualifications • Current undergraduate student pursuing Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Aviation Management, Public Administration, Communications, or related field • Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with airport personnel and emergency responders • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn industry-specific systems Core Tools & Systems • Microsoft Word • Microsoft Excel • Microsoft PowerPoint • Microsoft Outlook • Aviation communication and dispatch systems • Emergency management reporting and documentation tools Preferred Skills • Basic knowledge of emergency management, public safety, or aviation operations • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail • Prior internship, volunteer, customer service, or administrative experience Legal Notice By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from CornerStone and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
