Cyber Security Engineer

A financial technology firm is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. Compensation: $120-160k Must be a USC or GC Holder; No visa sponsorship Must be local to NY Metro Area; No relocation They are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong focus on Incident Response to join a high-performing technology team supporting critical financial infrastructure. Responsibilities: • Monitor security alerts, logs, and threat intelligence sources to identify potential incidents • Support end-to-end incident response activities including triage, containment, eradication, and recovery • Conduct root-cause analysis and deliver actionable remediation recommendations • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and rapid response during incidents • Optimize security tooling, automation processes, and dashboards • Help strengthen overall security posture through proactive threat detection Qualifications: Required • 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (financial services experience preferred) • Experience managing security incidents • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working with log data and threat intelligence platforms • Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, and Cloud security solutions Preferred • Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell) • Exposure to digital forensics, threat hunting, or vulnerability management • Industry certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, CEH, Security+, or CySA+
