United States Category - Technical / Engineering / Information Technology Job Description Full-time Description IT System Administrator II On-Site Position Starting at $75,000 Annually Required On-Call Rotation Schedule (subject to change): Monday - Friday / 8:00am-4:30pm Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Information Technology Director, installs, supports, troubleshoots, audits, monitors, and tests hardware and software problems pertaining to IT systems. This position also requires an on call 24/7 rotation. Brief Overview of Major Duties: Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux server environments (physical and virtual). Manage VMware infrastructure, including VM provisioning, performance monitoring, snapshots, backups, and recovery. Perform system updates, patching, and upgrades while minimizing downtime. Monitor system health, availability, and performance; proactively identify and resolve issues. Maintain server documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Support and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment (switches, wireless). Assist with network configuration, VLANs, routing, and access control under established standards. Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues affecting users and servers. Work with senior staff on network upgrades, expansions, and security improvements. Assist with user provisioning and deprovisioning in Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft 365. Manage basic user attributes, group memberships, and license assignments according to documented procedures. Support MFA enrollment and troubleshoot common authentication issues. Assist with device enrollment and compliance checks where applicable. Follow identity and access control policies to ensure security and compliance. Respond to help desk tickets and phone calls from staff and residents. Provide timely resolution and clear communication to staff and residents. Document issues, resolutions, and known fixes in the ticketing system and knowledge base. Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, network, and access-related issues. Assist support staff. Enforce security policies, including user access control, permissions, and authentication. Assist with vulnerability remediation, antivirus/EDR management, and patch compliance. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation. Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes. Assist in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to improve efficiency. Recommend system improvements, capacity planning, and best practices. Participate in infrastructure projects and technology rollouts. Work closely with IT team members, vendors, and management on technical initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, networks, and procedures. Follow change management processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed. Some travel may be required. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT field. Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others. Ability to provide technical support over the telephone; good phone skills and professional demeanor. Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations. Hands-on experience with cabling, phone systems, cable testers, toners, and tools. Ability to multi-task well and juggle several different tasks at one time. Organized, able to think creatively and adapt to different situations. Able to work the required on call 24/7 rotation. Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices. Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies. Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests. Has Cisco Switch, Windows Servers and Backup Software experience. Has a minimum of three years experience in networking. Preferably a Bachelors Degree (BA) in computer science or related field. Preferably has experience in a healthcare environment. Licenses and Certifications: Preferably has a Microsoft and/or Cisco Certification. Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire. Has current, valid drivers license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks insurance carrier. Has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements. Physical Requirements: Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds. May need to operate a fire extinguisher. Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.
