Duration: 6-12+ Months
Pay Rate: $Market/Hour USD all inclusive

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Governance Business Analyst to join the Finance organization within a leading bank. This role plays a critical part in strengthening the firms data foundations by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and control across key Finance data sets used for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, capital and liquidity management, product control, and risk processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Finance functions, financial products, and banking processes, combined with hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, and data lineage. This individual will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Data Management teams to enhance data trust, improve control environments, and support regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Masters a plus).
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Finance Analyst, or similar role within banking or financial services.
Strong understanding of Finance processes such as financial reporting, product control, regulatory reporting, capital & liquidity, balance sheet, and P&L.
Solid knowledge of data management, data governance, data quality, and data lineage concepts.
Familiarity with financial products (e.g., derivatives, fixed income, equities, loans, deposits) and trade lifecycle.
Experience with data modeling, mapping, and integration concepts.
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory expectations (e.g., BCBS 239, SOX controls, CCAR, MiFID II, GDPR, internal data policies).
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with Finance, Technology, and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with data governance / data lineage tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Informatica, Solidities).
Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms.
Experience working in a Finance function within a bank (e.g., FP&A, Controllers, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, Product Control).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ownership mindset and a high attention to detail.
