Drax is the biggest single site renewable generator in the UK and the largest decarbonisation project in Europe. The station and our corporate offices are located near Selby, North Yorkshire and supplies 6% of the country’s electricity needs, including 11% of its renewable power.
Four of our six power generation units have been upgraded from burning coal to use sustainable biomass in the form of compressed wood pellets, sourced from responsibly managed working forests.
