Job Description Job Description Aerospace Metrology Specialist (FARO Laser Tracker & Verisurf) Location: Shelby Township, MI Compensation: $28-$35/hour A day in this role You start your day reviewing engineering drawings for a new aerospace fixture build. With your FARO laser tracker and Verisurf toolsets, you map critical features, align to datums, and validate that what's on the floor matches what's on paper. By afternoon, you're compiling a clear, visual inspection report-annotated 3D images, concise written notes, and well organized data tables-so engineering, quality, and production can move forward with confidence. You'll wrap up by supporting a custom tracker service request tied to a space or defense program and planning tomorrow's priorities. What you'll own Deliver custom laser tracker metrology services for inspecting and supporting the build of tooling, jigs, and fixtures used in aerospace, space, and defense applications. Execute inspections against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements using FARO and Verisurf. Produce easy to read inspection documentation featuring written summaries, 3D visuals, and structured data tables. Complete all reporting and records with precision and on time; assist with other related tasks as assigned. What you bring Strong math aptitude with clear verbal and written communication. Hands on Verisurf software expertise. Proven proficiency with FARO Laser Tracker systems. Solid GD&T knowledge and blueprint interpretation skills. Excellent organization, follow through, and deadline awareness; high attention to detail. Ability to learn new software tools as needed. Aerospace industry background is preferred, and training is available for strong candidates. Experience and training At least 5 years of Verisurf experience. At least 5 years working with FARO Laser Trackers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
