Position Summary The Career and Education Coach is responsible for empowering Members with the tools, education, and resources to create a foundation in permanent self-sustainability. This is done through facilitation of intentional, in-person career development and education support, while addressing related barriers that threaten a Member's success. During the time a family is in the Program, the primary goal of the Career and Education Coach is to actively track progress of each Member's higher education and/or career development progress while providing intentional one-on-one support in overcoming barriers associated with personal and professional growth. The position collaborates/works closely with Success Coaches/Program Manager to ensure that Members receive coordinated support and that career and education outcomes contribute to successful Program graduation. In addition to direct Member services, the Career and Education Coach supports/coordinates the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of career and education programming. This is an individual-contributor position with no direct supervisory responsibilities. The role combines direct Member coaching and case management with program-level responsibility for coordinating/providing career and education services. Job Duties Responsible for the implementation and management of the higher education and career services areas of the Gatehouse Program. Utilize Member career plans and local/national employment trends to assist in developing short and long-term career and higher education goals, when Monitor and review Member's career and academic progress with Members, Program management, and support team to ensure Members remain on track to meet Program education and income goals. Monitor and evaluate students' degree audit, class schedule, and grades/GPA. Collaborate with program management to ensure deficiencies are efficiently addressed and resolved. Meet with Members to address education and career development-related needs, outside of regular business hours, when needed. Collaborate closely with the Program Manager and Success Coaches to ensure career and education services are integrated into each Member's individualized success plan to ensure all Members reach target income goals within key deadlines of the Program. Coordinate and strengthen the Gatehouse's career and education services through ongoing implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Serve as the organization's subject matter resource expert on career development, higher education pathways, and workforce development trends and career-related financial Guide Members through best practices in higher education and career development. Remain current on labor market and education trends, education pathways, living wage data per family size, degree and certification opportunities, and workforce best Manage key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting, budgets, and data integrity associated with career development, education, and career-related financial literacy Assist with development and monitoring of budgets and resources supporting/associated with career and education programming. Collaborate with community partners to plan, coordinate and facilitate career, education, and professional development workshops and events. Maintain relationships with community career and education partners to ensure Members have access to current workforce and educational resources. Ensure all Member documents are valid, complete, and submitted by established Provide and maintain career and education related physical and digital resources for Participate in staff meetings, staff trainings, organization events, and other Programs events as requested to support the achievement of organizational goals. Reinforce the mission and Christian foundation of The Gatehouse by modeling and integrating Biblical principles and Christian philosophy throughout all activities and interactions related to this position. Perform other duties as assigned for the job Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in related field required, Master's degree Active career services certification through NCDA, CCE, or other career certification entity required. Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach highly preferred. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in career coaching, higher education advising, workforce development, case management, student success, nonprofit program management or a related field. Proficient computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (proficient in MS Excel); Data Management Software. Demonstrates detail-orientation and ability to foster and build Professional presentation and Able to navigate difficult Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of Members outside of regular weekday business hours. Ability to work independently with a strong sense of focus, task-oriented, nonjudgmental approach, and a clear sense of professional boundaries and respect for confidentiality.
