What You'll Do: Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems and APIs Build microservices architectures using Java (Spring Boot) or Python Develop and integrate RESTful and event-driven services Work within Agile / Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability Contribute to cloud-native development environments (AWS, Azure) Collaborate across engineering teams to support secure, distributed systems Support development of AI/ML-enabled applications and data pipelines (where applicable) What You Bring: Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (required) 5+ years of experience in software engineering Strong proficiency in: Java (Spring Boot) OR Python API development and microservices Object-oriented design and system architecture Experience with: Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar) Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development tools Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Preferred: CI or FS Polygraph Experience with: Kubernetes / Docker Distributed systems or event-driven architectures AI/ML platforms or data engineering pipelines Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal programs Compensation Base Salary: $140K - $190K+ Higher for poly-cleared and specialized experience Full benefits + long-term program stability Locations: Primary markets (highest density of cleared engineers): Northern Virginia (Reston, Herndon, Chantilly) Maryland (Columbia, Annapolis Junction, Fort Meade) Washington, DC Colorado Springs, CO Huntsville, AL Additional opportunities: Tampa, FL San Diego, CA Charleston, SC Dayton, OH Candidates typically align to a program location; some flexibility may be available depending on assignment.
