Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMid Level Forward Deployed Software Engineer Remote: Must reside in Arlington, Virginia Reports to: Echo Direct reports: None. Travel: 0-10% The Role As a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will contribute directly to the development and delivery of Army Vantage capabilities. You will build analytical dashboard features, support CI/CD pipeline tasks, and work within a structured agile environment alongside senior engineers and government stakeholders. You will operate in two-week sprint cycles, contributing to feature delivery from design through deployment. At our organization, an FDE takes ownership of their work - building reliable features, writing meaningful code, and ensuring each sprint increment is production-ready. Key Responsibilities Build and deliver front-end analytical dashboard views using Foundry's Workshop/Slate application layer under guidance from senior engineers Support CI/CD pipeline configuration tasks, including build scripts, automated tests, and environment promotion workflows Implement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to the Foundry Ontology to ensure consistent data interpretation across dashboards Produce clear technical documentation, including configuration notes, runbooks, and sprint artifacts Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and demonstrations for government stakeholders Conduct testing and validation to confirm dashboards function correctly and data aligns with approved definitions Identify integration issues, surface blockers early, and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve them Support defect resolution and incremental enhancements to maintain stable operations Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including pipelines, Workshop/Slate, and Ontology 3+ years of software engineering experience Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Java in cloud-based data platforms Experience working in government, defense, or classified environments Ability to independently build features, test them, and deliver production-ready functionality Comfortable working in small, fast-moving technical teams About PVM & Benefits At PVM, we mean it when we say we value diversity. Travel: 0-10% The Role The Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Sr FDE) serves as the technical lead responsible for the architecture, pipeline implementation, and overall delivery quality of Army Vantage dashboards and data workflows.You will coordinate directly with government stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver operational analytics capabilities that support force management and readiness decisions. Senior FDEs independently own complex implementation tasks from design through production, mentor junior engineers, and ensure sprint deliverables meet operational standards.
