Job DescriptionJob Description At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. We are seeking a Business Analyst II to partner closely with our Product team, with a focus on how the broader Machine Learning & Research and Sensor Intelligence teams efforts come to life within the product experience. This role sits at the intersection of algorithms and product - you'll develop a deep understanding of WHOOP's core algorithms (heart rate, sleep, activities, etc.) while connecting that knowledge to broader product strategy, feature adoption, and member engagement. We are looking for someone who is fluent in data, driven by product thinking, and eager to understand complex analytical challenges. This person should feel empowered to foster their own curiosity, ask sharp questions about how algorithmic outputs translate into the member experience, and raise support for ideas that meaningfully impact WHOOP's product. Responsibilities Partner with Product, Sensor Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software, and UX to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions with data. Develop a working understanding of WHOOP's algorithms and their outputs, and use that context to analyze how algorithmic features perform within the product experience. Support experimentation and feature launches by defining success metrics, building measurement frameworks, and surfacing insights on feature adoption and member behavior. Analyze the relationship between algorithmic outputs and product engagement - helping stakeholders understand not just what the algorithms produce, but how members interact with those outputs. Build and maintain scalable reporting processes that enable product and algorithms stakeholders to self-serve insights and make data-driven decisions. Proactively surface insights and action-oriented recommendations that go beyond the immediate ask - identifying opportunities to improve the member experience. Collaborate with a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment, contributing analytical rigor to cross-functional discussions. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in an analytical role with demonstrated ownership of business-critical metrics or initiatives. Demonstrated ability to distill complex problems into clear, actionable, data-driven insights and communicate them effectively to stakeholders. Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Hex, Tableau, or similar). Familiarity with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and analytics workflows (e.g., dbt, ELT) is a plus. Curiosity about how algorithms and models work - you don't need to build them, but you should be eager to understand their inputs, outputs, and how they shape the product. High intellectual curiosity and a self-starting mindset; comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training. In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package. These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate's specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role's requirements.
