A leading Government body requires a Cyber Security Analyst to join their team in Southport on a 12 month contract basis. Candidates who already hold Security Clearance are preferred but all candidates must be willing to go through SC. As a Security Analyst, your role on the team will include leveraging your knowledge of industry best practices, good judgment and problem solving skills to execute security operations. Areas of concentration include firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption, antivirus, incident response, and security event management. Technologies of specific interest (desirable but not essential) include: Familiarity with Wireless NAC, ELK, and RSA Envision In this position you will: * Provide security monitoring for a growing environment; support incident responses and provide root cause analysis support for incidents. * Provide Information Security Reporting and Metrics and provide input into improving information security reporting and metrics; identify/recommend improvements on internal investigation capabilities via tool building. * Provide assistance in recovering from security breaches; participates in investigation and remediation of security incidents; establish configuration policies for security technologies. * Review aggregated server logs, firewall logs, intrusion prevention logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. * Conduct research on emerging threats in support of security enhancement and development efforts; recommend security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases. * Create and maintain internal training materials and provide training to appropriate information systems staff; assist with propagating security awareness among employees. * Working as part of a team, performing deep-dive incident analysis and determining if critical systems or data sets has been impacted. * Coordinating the incident response of minor incidents by advising on remediation actions and escalating major incidents to the designated parties. * Generating tailored reports of minor and major incidents. . * Recording lessons learnt and improving existing processes and procedures. * Processing incident communications to include initial reporting, follow-ups, requests for information, and resolution activity. * Providing support for new analytic methods for detecting threats. * Continuously seeking to identify potential service and process improvements. Working for a large charitable organisation, you will act as first line support & primary point of contact for all service-related queries, issues/Incidents Log all calls made to the Service Desk with correct level of detail & impact to facilitate resolution. Main responsibilities and duties: * Resolve at 1st call as many issues as possible using relevant support documentation or resources * Identify & escalate Priority calls in line with the Incident management process, all Services & associated SLA's Refer unresolved calls to appropriate resolver groups & escalate calls as appropriate * Monitor the successful conclusion of all calls following up on customer calls where necessary * Work with users & Service Desk Team Lead to identify & assess service enhancement opportunities Actively champion & communicate users needs, requirements & concerns from a customer service perspective within the IS organisation & Service Delivery * Monitor all incidents to ensure that underlying trends & root causes are identified & permanently * resolved Manage & maintain desktop security in line with organisational standards For this role you need to have previous experience of providing remote support at 1st and 2nd line level within a MS environment. This position will pay up to £150 per day ltd/umbrella. Due to the nature of the environment you will be working in you will need to have or undertake a Disclosure Scotland check

Opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join well established company with a large portfolio of projects. 6 months initial contract with possibility of extension. Based In Brussels - French speaking would be beneficial. Paying up to £700pd. We are looking for a Business Consultant specialising in all aspects of the Business Analysis with an extensive experience of Requirements Gathering. You will be based in Brussels with occasional travel to the UK. The business analyst should have the following experience and skills: - Vast, proven Business Analysis experience; - Experience of working within IT environments - Strong Requirements gathering and process mapping and modelling experience - Comfortable working in both an Agile as a well as Waterfall environment - Excellent communication skills - Full lifecycle experience - from identifying the business problems e.g. using a Lean Six-Sigma DMAIC approach; through to designing, planning and implementing the analysis, process and change interventions required - Stakeholders management at all levels - eliciting requirements through meetings and workshops, utilising a range of techniques from Use Cases to Storyboards to User Stories to Process Maps, - Client facing - Experience working for a number of different Clients across a range of industries and sectors - Aviation, IT/Telecomms, Welfare, Defence, Justice, Government, Banking, Healthcare - Great knowledge of Prince and ITIL accreditations as well as Lean and Six Sigma (qualifications beneficial) As you will be based in Brussels fluency in French would be highly beneficial.
