Associate Application Support System Administrator US-MI-Lansing Job ID: Type: Regular Full-Time # of Openings: 1 Category: Information Technology Farm Bureau Center Overview Associate Application Support System Administrator Objective To assist users in providing ongoing support for system reliability of assigned applications. To assist in basic system administration functions including platform maintenance tuning, problem resolution, implementation, configuration, upgrades, patches and other routine tasks as necessary. To assist in the support, maintenance, and improvement of our systems and effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors, and development teams. To utilize existing monitoring solutions to report on system performance and troubleshooting issues. Responsibilities Associate Application Support System Administrator Responsibilities Assist in tracking application performance and troubleshoot production issues. Participate in outage resolution, document activities for resolution, and maintain procedures for troubleshooting. Identify measures to avoid a recurrence of systems problems. Respond outside of normal working hours as required. Utilize existing monitoring solutions to report on system performance and troubleshooting issues. Notify appropriate users and third-party vendors of outages and system degradation. Review vendor documentation on updates for potential impacts to active projects. Back-up System Administrator on system upgrades following new releases and assist with training and communication as directed. Ensure application license and service agreements related to assigned applications are acquired, executed, and renewed as necessary. Follow established guidelines, act as the liaison between our users, vendors, and development teams. Act as a subject matter expert with business and project teams on roles and responsibilities for basic administrative functions including platform maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks as necessary. Participate in training for the latest technology enhancements, tools, and capabilities available for the application and ensure practices are adopted across the organization, as relevant. Learn business processes and requirements to contribute to solutions to meet business needs in collaboration with the business team. Execute established guidelines for managing tools to backup data and metadata for business continuity purposes. Interpret the impact of new requirements on all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes for review with peers. Provide support to operations processes including scheduling and batch job flows. Learn ecosystem of all applications to assist in on-going support. Respond outside of normal working hours as required. Other projects as assigned. Qualifications Associate Application Support System Administrator Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience may be considered. One to three years of application support or other technical experience required. Demonstrated ability to customize applications, like Salesforce, and other systems with little to no external consultant assistance. Preferred One to three years of system administration experience preferred. Salesforce Administrator or other System Administrator Certification preferred. Microsoft Certification preferred. Application implementation experience preferred. One of the AINS, FLMI, or equivalent designations is preferred.
