We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong CAM programming capabilities to lead all programming and machining process development within the machine shop. This role is responsible for developing efficient, repeatable programs using CAM software, while supporting operators with optimized setups, tooling strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will play a key role in advancing the shop's programming capabilities, improving throughput, and driving consistency across CNC operations. Key Responsibilities • Develop CNC programs using CAM software for milling and turning operations (Mazak, Haas, DMG MORI) • Generate, simulate, and optimize toolpaths to improve cycle times and ensure part quality • Post-process CAM programs into machine-ready code (G-code, Mazatrol, conversational formats as needed) • Design and implement efficient, repeatable setups including tooling and workholding strategies • Collaborate closely with CNC Operators to ensure successful program execution on the shop floor • Troubleshoot and resolve programming, tooling, and machining issues • Interpret complex blueprints and determine optimal machining approach and sequence • Continuously improve processes to reduce scrap, increase throughput, and enhance quality • Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation • Support new product introductions from concept through production readiness • Standardize programming and machining practices across the shop
