Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer to build and optimize EC2 Nitro high memory and HPC capabilities. In this role, you'll design and implement low-latency, high-throughput services powering large memory instances and compute-intensive workloads. You'll work closely with senior engineers to improve reliability, scalability, and performance, using data-driven experimentation and profiling. You'll own services end-to-end-from design and coding to deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence-in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain EC2 Nitro high memory and HPC features and services. Optimize low-latency, high-throughput systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architecture. Own services end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and operations. Use metrics, profiling, and experimentation to drive performance and availability improvements. Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, and best practices for systems engineering. Implement secure, resilient solutions aligned with AWS operational excellence standards. Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
