Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist Fiber Splicers with fiber optic cable preparation and splicing Learn to perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables Assist with OTDR and power meter testing Read and interpret basic construction prints and splice diagrams Install fiber enclosures, terminals, and related telecommunications equipment Support aerial and underground fiber construction crews Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed Follow all company safety policies and customer requirements Operate hand tools and basic telecommunications equipment safely Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles Travel to job sites as needed Qualifications Basic knowledge of construction or telecommunications preferred but not required Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and organizational skills Ability to follow directions and safety procedures Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license required Previous telecommunications, utility, or construction experience is a plus but not required Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods Ability to distinguish color-coded fiber cables Work Environment Outdoor field environment in varying weather conditions May require overtime, weekends, and travel depending on project needs Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to company safety policies
