Job Description Job Description Perfection Machining in Morgan Hill seeks a CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer to set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery and equipment. Perfection Machining LLC is a manufacturer of complex build-to-print machine parts and sub-assemblies in support of the aerospace/defense industry. We are seeking a CNC Lathe Operator / Programmer with the primary responsibility to program and operate the machine to automatically produce metal parts for our manufacturing team. JOB SUMMARY: Ability to setup and operate CNC Lathe machines with minimum assistance and supervision. Able to read and interpret CNC lathe programs and make necessary adjustments or modifications. You will follow blueprints and schematic work-ups to create precision implements and tools with machinery. As a CNC Lathe Machinist required to set-up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision. Will assist in the development of new processes. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Manually program machines utilizing proficient knowledge of CNC controls Program and operate CNC machines Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. Accurately read and interpret prints, 3D models, and general work instructions. Read tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been appropriately completed, ensuring quality and accuracy Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality. Maintain quality control documents and update setup information REQUIREMENTS: CNC fabrication experience is a must, as well as experience with precision measurement tools Must be computer savvy and programming experience with Mastercam preferred Ability to read & interpret prints/drawings & 3D models. Mathematical skills: Add, subtract, multiply, divide. Compute rate, ratios, & percentages. Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direct supervision Attention to detail and results-driven QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a US citizen with a High school diploma or GED equivalent Have an associate degree in a manufacturing field and experience as a CNC lathe operator or a similar machining specialist. Training, certification, or degree from a technical college or vocational school preferred Able to read blueprints and use a caliper or micrometer to ensure all of your parts match the specifications Prior professional experience in a related manufacturing role Experience using CAD (computer-aided design) and CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software programs
