Our people are expected to experiment boldly, adopt new tools, and continuously raise what's possible to create meaningful impact for our consumers. If you believe the best way to do your job hasn't been invented yet, you'll fit right in. Position Summary The Manager of Embedded Firmware Architecture leads the platform and architecture-implementation team within SharkNinja's embedded firmware organization, sitting as a peer to the Embedded Firmware Delivery manager and reporting to the Director, Embedded Firmware. Where the Embedded Firmware Delivery manager owns design implementation and feature delivery, this role owns the architecture side: the reference implementations, hardware abstraction, and platform standards that every embedded firmware program builds against. This is a working leadership role. The Manager carries the technical depth to define interface contracts, HAL boundaries, and platform selection criteria, and to review code against them, while leading a team of Senior Embedded Firmware Developers who implement that architecture. The role holds the technical standard applied to internal developers and external partners alike. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam & Architecture Leadership Lead, hire, and develop the architecture-focused Senior Embedded Firmware Developers within the US embedded firmware team. Conduct code review, technical direction, and design guidance for the team; maintain hands-on depth to make credible architecture decisions. Manage workload allocation and capacity for platform and reference-implementation work across concurrent programs. Architecture & Technical Direction Own firmware architecture, interface definitions, and hardware abstraction (HAL/API) standards for the US embedded firmware organization. Establish architectural standards for real-time operating systems, device intelligence, and edge processing. Drive technical decisions on microcontroller and processor architecture in partnership with Hardware Engineering. Maximize reuse of proven internal code, vendor SDKs, and reference designs to meet speed-to-market demands; reserve in-house development for durable differentiation, safety, and IP. Translate architecture into clear, enforceable requirements that development partners execute against without interpretation. Standards, Governance & Enforcement Define and maintain the engineering standards applied to internal developers and third-party suppliers alike - source control, build systems, branch and merge strategy, and release requirements. Contribute to the technical requirements embedded in supplier agreements, including the pre-production reproducibility deliverables: source, toolchain, and signed build manifest sufficient to independently rebuild shipping binaries. Establish design review and gating checkpoints that partner deliverables clear before integration. Partner with Systems Engineering and NPD to define product operation, key components, and critical firmware behavior at design time, closing hardware/software integration gaps before they surface at integration. Engineering Infrastructure & Test Automation Own the embedded test automation framework: CI pipeline design, static analysis tooling, and the test-harness infrastructure that makes regression testing repeatable across categories. Own embedded build integration, headless build requirements, and per-commit enforcement of code quality across internal and supplier repositories. Build the mechanism Quality gates against - this function builds the scaffolding; acceptance criteria and gate authority remain with Embedded QA & Governance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Embedded Firmware Delivery manager to ensure delivery teams build against current architecture and standards. Partner with other global firmware leadership on programs spanning multiple sites and on shared platform work. Serve as a technical voice in partner capability assessment and consolidation decisions. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline required. Experience 8+ years of embedded software and firmware engineering experience. 2+ years leading or formally mentoring embedded engineering teams; first-time people leaders with strong technical depth will be considered. Demonstrated experience defining architecture executed by internal developers and external partners, and holding standards against outsourced development. Proven track record establishing CI/CD, static analysis, and automated test infrastructure for embedded programs. Demonstrated hands-on delivery of production firmware for consumer electronics, home appliances, robotics, or related high-volume industries. Technical Expertise Embedded firmware architecture, HAL/API design, and platform reuse. Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). OTA and bootloader software update architecture. Build systems and toolchains (gcc, CMake, headless builds), Git-based source control, static analysis. Test automation frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop validation. Requirements definition, design review, and acceptance criteria for outsourced development. Hardware-software integration and product bring-up. AI at SharkNinja At SharkNinja, we're building an AI-native culture. We're not waiting for the future; we're creating it. Raytheon's Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology within the company. Our department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and lifecycle support of Raytheon's radar product portfolio. We are seeking a Senior Hardware Integration, Analysis & Test Engineer excited about the opportunity to sit at the intersection of radar hardware, firmware, software, and signal processing and make it all work together. Join a growing Integration & Test Suite (ITS) team whose common toolset currently supports more than six active radar programs across S-, C-, X-, and UHF-Band systems. If you're someone who gets more satisfaction from building a tool that eliminates a problem forever than from fixing the same issue over and over, this opportunity is for you. What You Will Do Write, use, and maintain software that controls, tests, and characterizes real radar hardware - from module level all the way to system integration. Dig into RF and IQ data to find the root cause of hard problems - the kind where the answer isn't obvious and the stakes are real. Perform Receiver/Exciter hardware, software, and firmware design verification tests across multiple radar bands and programs and figure out what the data is telling you. Build data analysis tools that give engineers and technicians answers faster - and eventually, building Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning tools do some of the heavy lifting. Work directly with hardware designers, firmware developers, software and systems engineers - you'll need to speak all four languages. Hands on hardware test and troubleshooting. Own your work: if you build it, you'll support it, improve it, and teach others how to use it. Operate across multiple Raytheon sites and interface directly with program engineering, production, and systems teams. Our engineering team handles the majority of technical implementation and delivery. What we are looking for is someone who can bring strong communication, technical credibility, and an understanding of how U.S. clients expect consulting relationships to work. You will often be the person clients meet during discovery calls, technical discussions, project reviews, and important decision points. The typical commitment is approximately 2 to 5 hours per week, depending on the number of active client engagements. There are no fixed daily working hours. Most of your involvement will center around scheduled client meetings, discovery calls, project reviews, and occasional technical discussions. This role can work well alongside an existing full-time position, consulting practice, or other professional commitments, provided there are no conflicts with your current employment. How We Work Before important client conversations, our internal team provides you with the relevant background, technical context, project requirements, and discussion points. You will not be expected to walk into meetings without preparation. Our goal is to let you focus on the part where you provide the most value: client communication, technical credibility, and relationship building. Our engineering team remains responsible for the execution and technical workload behind each engagement. Compensation This role is designed around a performance-based compensation model connected to the client engagements you support. Compensation can grow as you become involved with additional accounts, while the weekly time commitment remains relatively limited. Specific compensation structure and engagement terms will be discussed directly with qualified candidates before any work begins. There are no application fees, equipment purchases, or upfront payments required from candidates. What Success Looks Like Clients trust you. They feel that their concerns are understood, technical questions receive clear answers, and expectations are being managed professionally. Our engineering team receives clear context from client conversations and can focus on delivery without communication gaps slowing the project down. Over time, you become a trusted technical advisor for several key U.S. accounts and help Alpus Consulting build long-term relationships in the U.S. market. How to Apply Apply through LinkedIn with your latest resume and a short introduction covering your technical leadership background and experience working directly with clients. We would especially like to hear about a situation where a client wanted more features, a faster timeline, or a lower budget than the project could realistically support, and how you handled that conversation.
