Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of full stack software development experience, including 3+ years of full stack web development (frontend and backend)
  • Professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language (Python preferred)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining production systems using cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with React/React Native, Django, GraphQL, and infrastructure tools (Docker, Terraform)
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership role (leading projects, mentoring, or architectural decisions)
  • Experience designing scalable systems and working with AWS/GCP cloud services
  • Background in media/publishing platforms with third party integrations and data pipelines
Responsibilities
  • Write, test, debug, document, and deploy code across our full stack.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to translate ambiguous requirements into well scoped technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in on call rotation (outside of standard business hours) to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
  • Research and recommend technical solutions for future product features, evaluating new technologies and presenting recommendations with clear trade off analysis.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by mentoring engineers, establishing best practices, and helping maintain quality standards across the engineering department.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends, as required.
Candidate Profile
  • Proficient in modern full stack web development and able to design RESTful or GraphQL microservices, run apps locally in Docker, and deploy to production.
  • Strong knowledge of established architectures and industry best practices, staying current with security, accessibility, and performance standards.
  • Curious and open to new solutions and industry trends, evaluating whether new technology truly solves a problem.
  • Excellent communicator, explaining technical concepts to non technical colleagues and providing constructive code review feedback.
  • Pragmatic technologist who seeks the simplest viable solution while balancing current and near term needs.
  • Critical thinker who breaks product requirements into technical tasks, identifies dependencies and risks, and executes with minimal oversight.
  • Adaptable and enthusiastic about working on varied projects of different sizes, using different technologies.
  • Team player who offers help, shares knowledge, encourages collaboration, and thrives in a discussion driven environment.

Compensation

Salary minimum: $115,000; salary maximum: $150,000.
