Title: CNC Programmar Job Family: Production Reports to: Manufacturing Manager FLSA Status Non exempt EEOC Class: Craft Worker Summary The experienced CNC Mill Programmer will have advance programming knowledge for CNC Mills (4 & 5 axis) machines using Mastercam. The programmer will also have advance knowledge of machining tools including cutters and inserts. He / She must have ability to utilize setup reduction techniques and optimal machining / personal usage. The programmer will need a strong verbal and written communication skills is required for this position. Position Duties Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: Create CNC programs utilizing the latest MasterCam software. Tests, modifies and enhances set up procedures. Maintains and preserves NC code and CAM libraries. Develops, prepares, optimizes, and maintains Set-up and operation documents. Records and maintains the established processes to ensure only authorized and documented changes are made. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and set up requirements. Design and select work holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material size needed when creating program. Use of Renishaw probing cycles in CNC program. Supports prove out process with Machinist and inspection to meet conformance. Continuous improvement to new and existing processes. Able to design fixtures if needed Completes task on time Have vision to drive DFM and part/tooling standardization Understands and live by company's ethics and business conduct policies Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience: CNC multi axis (5 axis) Mill programming using MasterCam software: 7 years (Required) Solid Modeling: 3 years (Required) Use of SolidWorks and Cimco editor is a plus Able to trouble shoot programming errors and make CNC's run more efficiently Knowledge of Horizontal and Vertical Mills Multi axis machines Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail Ability to read blueprints and advance GD&T knowledge Good machining practice and knowledge of speeds and feeds. Cutting technique for stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials required Experience with working with castings is a plus Must have knowledge of CNC G-codes and M-codes. The Senior CAD/CAM Programmer works closely within engineering, quality, and manufacturing to support accurate and efficient CNC programs. The Senior CAD/CAM Programmer is comfortable with complex surfacing, contours, and tight tolerances. Requirements: Develop highly efficient and repeatable programs for complex aerospace components. Utilize advanced programming skills to operate 3-5 axis mills, lathes and mill/turn machines, including expertise in Hermle, Doosan and Okuma systems. Job Summary: The CNC/CAM Programmer is an important member of our programming and engineering team, supporting the production of precision aerospace components. This role acts as a liaison of excellence between the Engineering and Manufacturing (Operations) teams. You will focus on process development and CNC programming for multi-axis lathes and vertical machining centers. Time will be split between programming in a CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) environment and, as required, performing hands-on setup for first-run production. Major Areas of Responsibility: • Utilize ESPRIT CAM software to develop CNC programs (G-code) that optimize manufacturing methods for producing precision and ultra-precision components. • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop manufacturing processes, preferred tooling and work-holding, in-process deburring, and metrology that become approved production work instructions. Document all selections in ESPRIT tooling and datasheet libraries. • Leverage parametric programming, macros, and CAM software to optimize programs across families of parts. • Set up and operate production equipment during initial process development for new parts. • Determine optimal setups, toolpaths, material removal rates, surface finishes, and yields. • Train production personnel to ensure smooth transition and reproducibility in mass production. • Manage CNC programs and machine/tool setup data within the company's Product Data Management (PDM) and Distributed Numerical Control (DNC) systems. • Serve as an in-house subject matter expert and participate in lean initiatives to optimize released products, reduce setup and machine time, and improve productivity and quality. • Stay current with manufacturing technologies through research of equipment, software, tooling, and gaging systems. • Make recommendations for productivity improvements related to technology investments. • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred. • Progressive on-the-job experience commensurate with a degree will be considered. • Five or more years of advanced manufacturing experience, preferably in precision or ultra-precision machining environments. • Expert knowledge of Fanuc controls. • CNC programming experience using advanced techniques, including on-machine probing and tool setters, preferred. • Strong knowledge of work-holding, tooling systems, and CNC machine setup. • Proven working experience with CAM software for CNC programming. ESPRIT is preferred; experience with Mastercam, PartMaker, SolidCAM, or similar systems is acceptable. ESPRIT training will be provided. • Familiarity with manufacturing enterprise software; experience with Epicor ERP or similar systems is a plus.
