We are seeking Backend Engineer with an extensive background building production-grade backend systems and net-new functionality for product-based engineering. Looking for someone that will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with a passion for AI-driven technology and LLM functionality.
Base pay range
$160,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr
Location: Downtown San Francisco (onsite)

Position Reporting To: CTO
- Partner with technical and business leadership to shape platform architecture and long-term product strategy.
- Build, maintain, and scale backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support real-time application workflows.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of AI-enabled features and intelligent automation within the platform.
- Own projects end-to-end from technical design through production rollout, emphasizing performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Engage with internal teams and end-users to gather feedback and continuously improve core product experiences.
What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization:
- 3-10 years of experience building and supporting production-level backend systems.
- Strong experience with python and Django (or modern web frameworks), including API design and development.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and date modeling (Postgres or comparable)
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud-based services (AWS or similar)
- Exposure to real-time systems, streaming architectures, or AI/ML-powered platforms.
Compensation: $160 - $220K + equity options
