The successful candidate will be a key contributor, partnering closely with Engineering, Grid Operations, IT stakeholders, and the system vendors. This role offers the opportunity to help build new solutions and support system architecture for a leading-edge technology initiative that enhances Transmission Grid Applications, SCADA, Outage Management, Advanced Applications within ADMS and Distributed Energy Resource Management capabilities across PG&E's electric grid. Responsibilities span requirements gathering, system design, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing support. Partner with the vendor to resolve technical challenges, incorporate best practices, and deliver solutions that meet internal client needs efficiently. Maintain in-depth knowledge of product solutions and provide direction and input into PG&E's technology roadmap. Enhance and tune PG&E's electrical distribution Network Model by performing engineering analysis to support advanced application requirements and convergence. Participate in functional testing to validate system performance, ensuring the system accurately incorporates electrical theory, reflects distribution grid operational behavior, and meets PG&E's acceptance criteria. Lead a review and modernization effort to ensure field apparatus construction standards and operational procedures support current and future systems functionality. Deliver tier-2 application support and assist control center operations by ensuring optimal application performance and resolving issues related to the network model, telemetry, and overall system functionality.
