NOSO LABS(YC S25) San Francisco, California
Full Stack Engineer (Ongoing hiring forever) We work 6 days a week, and we also work and ping each other in the night. We are in office in SF, and do not have any remote options. We have extremely high bar on work. We do a lot of customer onsite visits. If you are not okay with any of above, DO NOT APPLY! What do you get in return: Huge career growth path Great and super capable colleagues NO BULLSHIT culture ABOVE market pay Company Overview We are a Y Combinator-backed AI startup on a mission to revolutionize home service industries (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) with cutting edge automation. Our flagship product, NOSO, is an AI assistant for HVAC technicians that streamlines diagnostics, documentation, and quote generation. In the long term, we aim to make home services fully autonomous and agentic. Founded by a two time successful startup founder (with two exits) and a technical co founder who led TikTok's entire LLM (Large Language Model) team, our leadership brings world class AI and engineering experience. Right now, we're focused on helping HVAC technicians diagnose problems faster, sell more effectively, and save time on paperwork. If you want to join a team that's building powerful AI tools to transform real world industries, this is your chance. The Role As Founding Software Engineer, you will be our first full time engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping our product and technology stack from the ground up. You will work closely with the founding team to design and build features end to end, bringing new AI driven capabilities to market. This is not a standard internship or part time role - you'll be a core member of the team, writing production quality code and making high impact decisions from day one. We move at startup speed: you'll prototype, iterate, and deploy features rapidly, learn on the fly, and help define our engineering culture and architecture. Key Responsibilities Build full stack features: Develop and ship core product functionality using our React Native mobile frontend and Python backend. Take features from idea to production, including UI, business logic, and cloud services. AI/ML integration: Collaborate on designing and integrating large language models (LLMs) and other AI models into our applications. Work on data collection, preprocessing, model training, fine tuning, and deployment to improve diagnostics and automation. Data engineering: Handle enterprise customer data and APIs. Build data pipelines and tooling to clean, store, and analyze large datasets for model training and inference. Quality & optimization: Test and validate model performance, optimize code for efficiency, and ensure reliability at scale. Iterate based on feedback from real technician use cases to continuously improve the product. End to end development: Take ownership of features across the stack - from designing robust backend services and database schemas to crafting intuitive mobile UI and experiences. Collaboration: Work closely with product, AI, and design teams to translate customer needs (e.g., faster HVAC diagnostics) into technical solutions. Communicate clearly and document your work to help the whole team stay in sync. Required Qualifications New Graduate in Engineering: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, graduating in 2025 or 2026. Top Academic Performance: Excellent academic record (GPA 3.7). We're looking for the best and brightest who have a track record of tackling challenging coursework or projects. Machine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. You understand basic concepts of NLP/AI (e.g., neural networks, language models) from coursework or projects. Data Handling: Comfortable working with large datasets. Experience with data manipulation (Pandas, NumPy, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is expected. Problem Solver & Learner: Strong analytical and problem solving skills. You're a quick learner who can pick up new technologies and concepts as needed. Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. As a founding team member, you'll need to work closely with co founders and cross functional partners in a fast paced environment. Commitment to Mission: Passion for AI and a drive to make a tangible impact in the trades industry. We want candidates who are eager to "move the needle" and change the world in their own way. Nice to Have Skills Experience or coursework in building and deploying ML models at scale. Familiarity with enterprise software systems and APIs (e.g., CRM, dispatch tools). Any hands on projects or internships involving full stack development or AI (highlight in your resume!). Interest or background in home service industries (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) or other field service domains. Prior experience in a startup or hackathon environment, where you thrived under pressure and ambiguity. Location & Commitment This position is full time, on site in San Francisco. We are not offering remote work - you will work closely with our co founders in person. We understand international candidates are sometimes interested: we can sponsor visas for exceptional new grads. As a founding engineer, your presence in the office will be crucial for collaboration and speed. Equity: Meaningful ownership in the company. Funding: YC backed with the runway to grow. Growth: Massive learning opportunity working on AI (NLP/LLM, full stack, cloud) under experienced founders. This is a unique chance to build something from zero and potentially earn huge returns on your equity. Why Join Us? Founders with Track Record: Learn from a two time successful founder and a former TikTok LLM team lead. Our mentors have built and sold companies, and they know how to execute. Big Impact: You won't be a small cog. Your code will directly shape the product and our customers' success. We're tackling a multi billion dollar industry that desperately needs innovation. Cutting Edge Tech: Work hands on with the latest in AI and LLMs, full stack mobile/web technologies, and scalable cloud infrastructure. Company Vision: Be a pioneer in bringing agentic AI to real world tasks. If you're excited by the idea of making home services smarter and more autonomous, you'll love our mission.
