We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patent Agent specializing in Software Technologies to join our dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and to be part of a team that thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patent applications, portfolio development, client counseling, and technical writing. This role demands a deep understanding of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and encryption. This is a permanent position that requires 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Draft, review, and manage patent applications for software technologies, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and encryption.
2. Develop and manage patent portfolios, including identifying opportunities for new patent applications.
3. Respond to Office Action from the USPTO and other patent offices worldwide.
4. Provide counseling and guidance to clients on patent matters, including advising on patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom to operate issues.
5. Conduct patent searches and analyses to support business decisions and strategy.
6. Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand and capture inventions.
7. Prepare technical and legal documents, including invention disclosures, patent applications, responses to office actions, and other related documents.
8. Stay abreast of developments in the field of software technologies, as well as changes in patent laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution, preferably in the area of software technologies.
4. Profound knowledge of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and encryption.
5. Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, responding to Office Actions, and managing patent portfolios.
6. Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, concise terms.
7. Demonstrated ability to provide effective client counseling.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
11. Proficiency in using patent databases and other patent-related tools and resources.
12. Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
