Job Description


Infrastructure Provisioning and Management:


o Designing, developing, and maintaining Terraform configurations (HCL) to provision, update, and manage AWS resources (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, EKS).


o Automating infrastructure deployment, scaling, and management processes using Terraform and Env Zero.


o Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of AWS environments through IaC principles.


o Implementing and managing Terraform state files, including remote backends and state locking for collaborative environments.


o Migrating existing Infrastructure to Terraform from previous tools (Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation and plain Click Ops)


Collaboration and Integration:


o Collaborating with development and operations teams to integrate Terraform configurations into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Travis CI, Env Zero).


o Developing and maintaining Terraform modules and templates to promote reusability and enforce consistent infrastructure patterns across projects.


o Working with other infrastructure tools and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting languages (Ruby, Python, Bash).


Monitoring, Optimization, and Security:


o Monitoring AWS infrastructure performance, cost, and security with AWS CloudWatch and New Relic, and implementing optimizations using Terraform features and AWS best practices.


o Implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices and compliance standards within AWS environments using Terraform.


o Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues within AWS and Terraform deployments.


Documentation and Best Practices:


o Documenting infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures in Confluence.


o Staying updated with emerging AWS and Terraform technologies and recommending improvements to infrastructure automation processes.


o Adhering to best practices for version control (Git), code reviews, and infrastructure as code principles.
