I met with this team earlier this week and I have to admit, they're amazing. They were founded in the 70's but luckily the tech has moved on a bit from then! They're a product development agency where they offer everything from the initial idea stage right through to prototype and manufacturer - all under one roof. Their own industry focus' is within med-tech, retail/consumer and industrial sectors but they step out of their comfort zone sometimes. You'll be joining a pretty much brand-new digital design team which was created just 6 months ago and currently only has a Head of Digital. They want 2 more designers to join them to take their team to the next level. The main things you'll be doing is turning the requirements and specs into creative solutions that challenges briefs with thinking of the end-user every time. They want to add a digital focus onto their products, so you'll be designing the digital user interfaces etc. Really collaborative environment so expect to sit next to either a product designer or an engineer -which is pretty cool! The atmosphere is buzzy with regular 'ideation sessions' where all the designers will get together and brainstorm. They also regularly do something called 'project speed dating' - which is as exciting as it sounds. Everyone in the company gets 1 minute to talk about what project their working on so people in the business know what's going on. Flexible working hours, thirsty Thursdays, company socials, client talks, lunch 'n' learns and loads of meetups are hosted in the building too like Ladies that UX. Energy and positivity are 2 things which immediately came to mind when I left this company. They'll be looking for people that have that too. If this sounds like a bit of you then click apply.

How would you like to join the tech hub of a Bristol based household name? You will be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't heard of the app they've created or seen the TV adverts! They have been growing and going from strength to strength in recent years and having been recently acquired by a private equity giant, have received huge amounts of funding which they are investing very heavily in people and tech. They are looking to scale up significantly and expand into new markets and hence need DevOps people to make sure the infrastructure is fit for purpose to underpin this growth. In this role you will be helping them build their AWS infrastructure. You will also get involved in building and optimising Kubernetes clusters (this is something they are huge fans of - they think it's the best thing to power their products), taking advantage of the latest open source developments in this space. A great thing about all this is you do not need to have prior commercial experience with Kubernetes - they are happy to invest in your training and development and get you up to speed as long as you are interested in it. You will be joining a team of DevOps Engineers working towards the goal of releasing quality software as fast as they possibly can. This is hopefully where you will come in. You will be part of the effort to streamline processes around release, optimising existing tools and creating new ones to improve quality and efficiency, minimise bottlenecks and live the continuous delivery dream. You will be excited by automation, chaos engineering, infrastructure as code and continuous delivery, be a problem solver and be very intellectually curious - constantly questioning, testing the boundaries and trying to explore how to improve things. Are the tools fit for purpose? Are they being used in the most optimal way? Is there a better way of doing things? They are very forward thinking as far as the tech is concerned - to give you a snapshot: Ansible, Jenkins, Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Prometheus, Vault, Elasticsearch The role is based in central Bristol. Benefits: Lucrative bonus Competitive pension Private medical and dental Subsidised gym membership Life assurance Tech allowance to get your work space set up how you want it (mechanical keyboards etc) Lots of investment in training & development - continuous learning is part of the company's DNA. The company encourages employees to go on expensed conferences and training courses, provide an array of learning resources, are very active in the local tech meetup scene. Many of their engineers have contributed to open source projects which they would encourage you to also do. Opportunity to work with an extremely talented group of people, work with modern technology (Kubernetes!), adhere to best practices, deliver interesting projects that will add a significant premium to your market value and learn a lot! If this looks potentially of interest I'd be delighted to have a chat with you about this opportunity and your career aspirations going forward, in complete confidence. We are keen to see applications from both junior and more experienced candidates
