Robert Walters are hiring a Principal Engineer with strong skills in (React/Node) for a well-known market leading businesses to come and work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop and implement products by applying a knowledge of design principles, procedures and practices You will Lead architecture, design, coding, quality and security reviews and contribute to (and leads, where appropriate) the relevant scrum events; sprint planning/user story estimation, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews/demos and retrospectives. You will take ownership to overcome technical problems and live incidents while coaching the team to follow excellent coding practices and quality standards and provide training and mentoring to the squad and ensure best practice testing strategies and principles are followed wherever possible. Technical skills: * Frontend - React/JavaScript * Backend - Node.js/Typescript, MongoDB/NOSQL * Supporting technology skills - Gitlab, AWS, Azure, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes * Experience developing microservices on scalable cloud infrastructures such as AWS/Azure * Leadership skills with demonstrable experience in leading agile development teams. * Experience developing code for highly available business critical software. * Demonstrable experience of agile working practices, Continuous integration, GIT flow modern development patterns and practices. Through your technical expertise and experience in coaching and mentoring, you'll inspire a team of 6-8 developers - bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to develop their skills as you build a world-class development operation. Confident and approachable, your expert communication skills will allow you to collate and convey functional and technical information clearly to colleagues from all department and at all levels. You should be able to demonstrate pragmatic judgement, balancing risk and business value to reach decisions which are well informed and actionable. You should be respectful of individual's views and positively contribute to a learning environment in which individuals are supported and encouraged to excel.
