Salary £35,000 - £40,000 + benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PHP Developer to join a thriving Marketing Communications Agency based in Swindon.
We are looking for a Developer who can manage back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users.
The successful applicant will be part of a digital team that works on creative digital solutions for the company’s clients. You will be responsible for PHP website and application development, such as WordPress, Drupal, Prestashop, Magento, as well as participating in Back-End development tasks and providing services in the full software development life cycle, from concept, design to testing.
Responsibilities:-
* Work with the web designers to provide technical solutions to design problems
* Server management – operating and auditing server environments
* Work with the account managers to deliver accurate project timescales
* Develop all server-side logic and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end
* Integrate the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application
* Develop structured and commented code, while adhering to best practices
* Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
* Integration of data storage solutions {{may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.}}
Skills & Requirements:-
* 5+ years of PHP experience, in a fast-paced environment, preferably in an Apple environment
* Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (such as Laravel, Yii, etc depending on your technology stack)
* Experience in Front-End skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SASS, responsive web design, JSON, XML).
* Knowledge of Web services such as SOAP and RESTful
* Experience in version control and continuous integration systems
* Practical solutions using MVC design patterns
* Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
* Experience in user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
* Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
* Worked with PHP 7 as a platform and its workarounds
* Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
* Experienced with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
* Experience in code versioning tools, preferably Git
