This role goes through June 26th as of right now and will be onsite in New Haven, CT 5 days a week. This person needs a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of HARDWARE support experience. Description The central IT group is looking for a desktop support individual to serve as an information technology generalist responsible for providing broad range of user support services to a department, including network troubleshooting, training, and computer desktop support. Position Focus This role will provide technical user support for a moderately complex computing environment. Serves as generalist responsible for providing broad range of user support services, network, training, and computer desktop support and services to a department. Administers user and group accounts. Documents assigned systems and relevant procedures. Performs routine backup of systems and data files, performs restores as requested. Keeps abreast of current technologies. Maintains computer hardware and peripherals by keeping an inventory of installed devices, recommending replacements according to guidelines and interacting with vendors in the acquisition of computer products. 5. Installs and coordinates repair of a wide variety of computing devices and peripherals on the desktop and attached to the network. 6. Responds to emergency and routine calls that come in for computer assistance in support of core services such as email, scheduling, and backup systems, as well as client department specific applications. Documents all reported problems. 7. Supports clients in the use of their desktop equipment by training users. 8. Works with others to ensure smooth integration of network and software products. 9. Analyzes, recommends, and implements work-group computing solutions to meet client department's needs. 10. Trains other support technicians. 11. Completes and documents technical projects such as the testing of hardware and software products. 12. May perform other duties as assigned. 4-5 month contract starting in April Description Looking for desktop candidates to support the Summer Internship and Fall New Hire Program for a large financial bank from late April to September. Candidate should have 3-5 years of desktop support experience in a Window 10/11 environment and have installed hardware and software, built new PC, etc. This initiative involves two phases. Phase 1: supporting over 1000 Summer Interns who will be working at BOA over the summer before returning to college or starting their career. In the first two weeks of the project, the Desktop candidates will be profiling, installing and configuring laptops/desktops for the Summer interns. They will be installing proprietary applications and market data applications such as factset. Candidates do not need to have market data experience but financial experience and large enterprise experience is a big plus. After the first two weeks they will be providing desk side support to the interns. Common issues that may come up revolve around: network connectivity, adding printers, email issues with Outlook and operating system troubleshooting on Windows 10. After this phase ends then the New Hire program will start. Phase 2: For the New Hire program, they will be doing the same function for about 450-500 New Hire employees.
