Job Duties:

• Develop and test front-end web pages, functionality and styling to meet designs and complex requirements, and deliver strategic business objectives
• Develop and test back-end web applications and business services to meet designs and complex requirements, and deliver strategic business objectives
• Configure and extend development tools and frameworks, build and test tools where required
• Use and improve front-end style guides, JavaScript libraries, Java coding standards, unit tests and test frameworks as required
• Support development colleagues with peer review activity as required
• Participate in agile scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, providing estimates and updates for development activity
• Working as part of the development team to help understand and shape business requirements
• Working with the development team and test team to help devise, plan and document tests
• Participate and contribute to all agile ceremonies; planning, estimation, show & tells and retrospectives
• Work with analysts to interpret high level requirements for complex, large scale initiatives and decomposing them into independent stories for consumption by team member
• Work in a collaborative, sharing, open, transparent way
• Escalating complex challenges, issues and risks as well as proposed mitigating actions
• Driving continuous improvement efforts by identifying and championing practical means of reducing time to market while maintaining high quality products
• Develop CI/CD pipelines from Development through to Production implementation
• Manage application build & deployment into cloud platforms
• Undertake UI testing in an automated fashion
• Work with business analysts to interpret high level requirements and decomposing them into independent stories for consumption
• Doument design & implementation logic
• Develop mobile friendly & responsive UI

Skills Required:

• Strong experience of Java & related scripting technologies such as Java Script, Perl, Python
• Solid working experience of React scripting & UI design & implementation
• Good experience in server side programming would be desirable (e.g. C#)
• Experience of using Build & Deploy tools - Such as Jenkins, Maven, OctopusDeploy
• Hands-on experience of application development & deployment in Cloud (AWS and / or Azure) & related technologies such as Serverless / Dockers
• Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, deployment & operations concepts
• Passion for technology, web design and user experience
• An understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive web design
• Experience of guiding junior developers in the team
