Power BI/Data Visualisation Developer

What you'll need to succeed

My client is looking for a BI/Data Visualisation Developer to join the organisation on an initial 6 month contract.

Essential:

Power BI development
Data and Analytics background
Cognos
SAP Business Objects or Oracle OBIEE

For this role you will need the below:

• Evidence of experience of extensive use of and highly skilled in an industry leading reporting software using Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects XI and/or Oracle OBIEE / Hyperion technologies
• Able to write/read complex SQL / ETL queries
• Worked within the data and analytics industry as an data visualisation developer in a large scale data warehouse team;
• Experienced in reporting with traditional DWH and new Cloud methodologies

Accountabilities:

To develop and deliver prototyping capabilities across Data and Analytics in order to demonstrate that data can be used to improve business, operational or customer outcomes.

You will be accountable for technical development of prototypes within an assigned time frame of 4 to 12 weeks, delivering a working prototype for evaluation and review ensuring quick and cost effective decision making.

Skills:

• Ability to exploit new and existing technology to determine new innovative ways of exploiting data, including through integration of complex data sets
• Proven ability to think creatively and to work effectively with ambiguity

The client will ask you to take an IKM test assessing your technical skills.

Knowledge:

• Sound knowledge of a range of suitable technologies in which to quickly assemble a working prototype
• Demonstrated interest in new technologies and approaches in which to demonstrate insight through the use of technology

Experience:

• Experience of working with data scientists / analysts using data and technology to answer business questions
• Support to provide the business with the data in a usual effort format to help answer specific questions, this includes financial data etc.
