A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a well- established team within a global banking and financial services company. You’ll be working in an Agile environment with cutting edge industry techniques and technology.
The Application Developer will be responsible for all aspects of the application lifecycle including designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing and supporting the middleware implementation.
The qualified candidate will be well versed in both object oriented programming concepts and web application development methodologies, having a proven track record of delivering quality solutions in a Scrum based methodology.
The Application Developer will specialise in the implementation of complex applications and be extremely proficient in application integration.
* Develop, support, and optimise the web systems for Fixed Term and Card
* Develop new applications in line with agreed development standards, based on technical specifications, to meet required functionality.
* Evaluate software packages for functionality, business and technical fit.
* Focus on continual improvement at all times; Design system test plans and scripts, undertake testing, document changes and contribute to the continual enhancement of development methodologies.
Essential skills/ experience required:
* Well versed in object oriented programming concepts, micro-services, event driven programming and have a proven track record of delivering quality solutions in a Scrum based methodology.
* Broad knowledge of various development technologies/methods and when to best use them. The position provides technical application development and architecture mentorship to non-senior developers on the team.
* Excellent Communication skills; able to communicate both technical and business aspects of development projects to users and analysts
* Ability to code and debug against .Net APIs
* Experience with REST, XML, JMS, SOAP and/or Web Services (WS-*) and other Integration technologies
* Demonstrated experience developing SQL/Stored Procedures
* Reliable, professional and willingness to go the extra mile
* Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
