Job Description
Business Systems Analyst – Permanent – Surrey – Pathology, Agile, UML, SSADM, System Development Lifecycle.
The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for assisting in fully optimizing all systems development to meet customer and business needs. Through liaison with business customers and work colleagues to fully understand the business requirements, and by analysing the current systems and environments the analyst will develop requirements into functional specifications in an efficient and systematic fashion that meets the stated business needs.
Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities:
Write requirement specifications and functional specifications, to the agreed ISO standard
Write functional specifications to the agreed ISO standard for all data migrations
Ensure that specifications are reviewed and signed off in accordance with ISO standard
Contribute to the future strategy of all aspects of the products and services
Monitor the design efficiency of systems in terms of ease of use, run-time efficiency, and ease of maintenance
Attend national user group meetings
Attend sales demonstrations to assist with new functionality issues
Attend meetings with third party suppliers for product demonstrations and reviews
Business Systems Analyst Knowledge/Skills:
Experienced Business Analyst with a successful commercial background and good understanding of the development cycle who can utilise analysis methods (SSADM, AGILE, UML)
Strong motivational skills – can deliver the tasks in difficult circumstances
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels
Self-disciplined and focussed with good time-management and multi-tasking skills
Experience of working to tight deadlines
Ability and willingness to work independently or within a team
Excellent decision making / problem solving skills
Strong planning and organisational skills
Adaptability / flexible to changing demands
Ability to implement and manage change
Assertiveness and sound judgement
Education and Experience:
Experience within an IT or software providers organisation
Proven experience of a System Development Lifecycle
Experience in applying UML standards and techniques within a development life cycle
Working knowledge of any UML CASE tool
Pathology domain knowledge desirable
Successful Business Systems Analyst must be eligible to work in the UK.
