So what do these guys do? A fast growing health tech firm that allow an online consultation with a doctor from the comfort of your own home - saving all the hassle of getting up early and booking doctors appointments for small illnesses. Having trebled in size in the last couple of years they are looking to grow further and, hence, are moving towards 'devops'. Now, do not fret if you fear this 'buzz word' - these guys believe in the methodology and not the buzzwords - so if you lack the experience with buzz words of 'puppet', 'chef' and so on BUT have a drive to want to work with new technologies and expand your career then this is the role for you! These guys live and breathe agile - having brought in a well known agile consultancy to help them with this transition - 2 years later they are now aptly given the title of agile evangelists. With a new CTO brought in a few years back to help with this transition IT was brought to front of the business to allow it to scale and grow at the rate the business was. They are, therefore, looking for an experience Linux systems Administrator/ Engineer who is comfortable working on web applications to help maintain the current infrastructure but also learn all about the devops ways of working and tooling so he/she can work with the head of infrastructure to set up continuous integration/ delivery. Knowing the Head of Infrastructure well I can tell you he is a massive proponent of AWS and Docker so these are tools you will definitely be trained on. What are they looking for? * Experienced on Linux Systems * Experienced on Web Applications/ Servers: Tomcat/ Apache/ Jboss * Strong Scripting experience: Python, perl, php, bash * Knowledge of cloud servers: AWS, rackspcace, Vmware * Knowledge of configuration management: chef, puppet or ansible Massive thirst to learn and work with new technologies!
