A really exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven IT Manager to join a leading name within the food sector based in Sturminster Newton (UK travel will be required). This role will suit candidates who can boast experience of IT support and experience of introducing infrastructure solutions. Job Title: IT Manager Location: Sturminster Newton(UK travel will be required) Salary: £25k-£28k Working as the IT Manager you will support users of factory and office systems whilst ensuring the smooth running of the IT services, as well as contributing to the development and future of the local IT function, all under support of a centralized IT team. Duties also include; *To provide a key link between the business and new IT projects, ensuring best practice and change control is adhered to. *Ensure that the infrastructure is developed and maintained and that preventative actions are carried out within acceptable timescales. *Responsible for the day to day support of the IT infrastructure and ensure that the site has in place a secure and resilient infrastructure. *Provide support, monitoring and management of local database systems, including ad-hoc data query as appropriate and required. *Support all IT hardware, software, and production based systems within a very fast-paced and demanding environment *Management of Backup, Antivirus, Proxy and windows update systems. *User account and server log management. *Management of server room security and environmental logging hardware and software. *Contribute to developing and testing disaster recovery plans in line with business policy The successful candidate will have a proven IT support background and experience of introducing infrastructure solutions. You would have had exposure to - desktop and laptop builds utilising imaging tools; - database technologies (MS SQL Server 2005); - resolving hardware and software problems e.g. scales, security systems and printers. - ITIL Qualification is ideal, however not essential. The successful candidate will have a high level of analytical, technical and communication skills along with the ability to positively react to the demands of a fast-paced environment which is constantly developing. It is essential that the successful candidate has a full driving license due to the travel involved with this position.
