A Global Network Engineering Manager is required to join a recently established team cutting edge technologies and tools for a leading global technology company. This brand new, hands on role provides a great opportunity to shape and influence the infrastructure of a large global company.
Role: Global Network Engineering Manager
As Global Network Engineer you will be responsible for:
+ Key Player within a major Networking and End User Computing transformation program
+ Supporting the shift from on-premise infrastructure to commodity cloud based services
+ Leading a team of expert engineers and execute against a global strategy to deliver a flexible and dynamic workplace experience
+ Providing a network that allows people to access services from any device, anywhere in the world
+ Creating and implementing low-level designs in alignment with architecture principles and standards
+ Implementing network and security services that support a "Cloud First" strategy, leading to reduced costs and improved business agility
Experience:
As Global Network Engineering Manager you will have experience of:
+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Computer Science or other relevant discipline
+ Cisco CCNP / CCIE certification in relevant disciplines
+ Engineering and leadership experience encompassing the WAN, LAN and mission critical data centre networks
+ Significant and demonstrable core, distribution and access layer networking experience gained in large multiple site environments
+ Expert knowledge of Cisco and Juniper switches and routers
+ Expert knowledge of WAN connectivity, transport types and protocols, including Ethernet point to point and VPN technologies
+ Advanced knowledge of Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls.
+ Advanced knowledge of routing and tunnelling protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC, GRE, and L2TPv3.
+ Advanced knowledge of high availability protocols such as VRRP, HSRP, LACP, PAGP.
+ Advanced knowledge of network virtualization technologies including MPLS and VRF. Knowledge of SD-WAN also advantageous.
+ Advanced knowledge of QoS and NetFlow, particularly in respect to prioritising VoIP traffic.
+ Advanced knowledge of Cisco Wireless Access Controllers and Access Points.
+ Knowledge of various network security devices including Palo Alto and Bluecoat Systems.
+ Knowledge of voice and UC infrastructure including Avaya switches, VoIP, Polycom and Microsoft Lync.
+ Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure network designs, including best practices in configuring AWS Direct Connect and Azure
+ Knowledge of security technologies including intrusion detection and prevention.
+ Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Nagios and System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM).
+ Knowledge of Windows network protocols - DNS, DHCP, WINS, LDAP and Kerberos
