Currently seeking Software Developers with C# or Java and SQL experience for a Government Organisation based in South West England. Successful candidates will provide software development expertise to the engineering team by developing new systems and supporting pre-existing ones and will need to be able to gain SC Security Clearance, or already hold it.
The client is a branch of the UK Government which specialises in providing software support within the Maritime and Naval sectors. They provide a wide range of Government support but utilising marine data, providing hydrographic and cartographic services and improving maritime safety. They are a large Organisation who look to take on new talent from various levels of experience, ranging from first professional roles to more senior individuals. As a Software Developer you be responsible for developing large and small applications as well as providing technical advice to both internal and external customers by analysing requirements and problems, and then implementing the relevant solution. Your daily activities will be split based on you previous experience, however, in general you will be part of small development team responsible for designing and building software, influencing and aiding others if required. You'll the support the continuous delivery by writing automated tests, creating scripts and performing error tracing and fixing. Senior individuals will be expected to lead these small teams and will already have some previous management experience.

You'll display enthusiasm around goals and activities and adopt a positive approach when interacting with others. Good communications skills, both oral and written, are required to express ideas effectively and to proactively seek information, resources and support from others to help achieve results.
× Good working knowledge of C# or Java
× Automated testing including unit testing
× MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
× Database design and ETL processes
× GeoSpatial systems experience
× SQL Server
× Windows Server (2003 or later)
× Understanding of the ITIL framework.
