IT Infrastructure Manager - Havant - £50,000 - £55,000
As the IT infrastructure manager you will ensure the IT infrastructure is streamlined and reliable as well as being in alignment with the business objectives of the organisation. You will plan, coordinate and design change activities for the IT infrastructure in line with the business and IT roadmaps, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT infrastructure team. You will also work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation. You will have a major input to the IT infrastructure strategy and will work closely on this with the head of IT.
Main Duties:
Strategy & Planning
*Lead IT Infrastructure strategic planning in alignment with overall business and IT strategies, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Acquisition & Deployment
*Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
*Manage financial aspects of the IT Infrastructure, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
*Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
*Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards and service provision.
*Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
*Identify new, gold standard 3rd party Infrastructure partners as required.
Operational Management
*Overall management of the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT Infrastructure systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
*Support the Customer Service Manager in the provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
*Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
*Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts.
*Keep current with the latest technologies.
*Oversee Infrastructure change programme and project portfolio.
*In conjunction with IT Customer Services Manager practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
*In conjunction with Head of IT is responsible for licensing models and auditing.
*Manage IT Infrastructure staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
*Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
Skills Required
*Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008 and Windows 7.
*Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, software, protocols, and standards, including XenApp, VMware, Active Directory, App-V, Microsoft Exchange, MS System Centre, MSCS.
*Extensive application support experience.
*Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning, asset management and development.
*Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
*In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and PCI DSS.
*Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
*Experience of managing teams of 3 or more people.
*Strong understanding of project management principles.
General Skills

*Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.
