An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service as a Software Developer working at Ipswich East Fire Station.

The work is fast-paced and varied, integral to the efficient running of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Would you like to:

• work on software and systems that are critical to supporting our 999 infrastructure?
• have the opportunity to work with a range of exciting technologies and infrastructure as part of our small multi-disciplined ICT team?  We offer a 24/7 service and you can participate in an on call rota working 1 week in 3 outside of office hours providing support for essential systems. For this you would receive a standby fee for each 24 hour period plus appropriate overtime rate of pay.
• be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle from project initiation to production deployment and support. Help design, develop, improve and integrate solutions used to support a fire and rescue service?
• evaluate emerging industry technologies and best practices, continuously improving our services directly contributing to the HMICFRS three pillars for Fire and Rescue Services?

We need you to:

• be honest and bring experience, enthusiasm and a commitment to working hard
• work and contribute to a team, but also be able to self start and work on your own initiative
• have experience working with technologies including C# .NET, MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, CSS and common libraries such as Bootstrap
• be passionate about technology and innovation. Willing to continuously develop your skillset and innovate to meet business needs
• experience working with any other enterprise technologies, including server or network infrastructure, would be advantageous.
