Senior Network Specialist (Birmingham) - £45k - £58k - Legal

Salary: £45,000 - £58,000

Location: Birmingham (Some UK Travel)

I'm looking to speak with individuals who can help maintain and improve Legacy Cisco network infrastructure, both wired and wireless. You will be able to assist with designing and implementing a network within a multi cloud environment. You must be a self-motivated team player who can work in a demanding environment and apply logic to solving any problems that may occur.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and implementation of Cisco SD Access, Cisco SD WAN (Viptella) and networking in a multi cloud environment.
  • Assist in the global rollout of NAC, ensuring all new networks are securely implemented and maintained at the same level.
  • Be the expert for all aspects of the network and be able to share your knowledge to help with day-to-day network support.
  • Improve the monitoring and management of the network in collaboration with the Production Team.
  • When and where required, implement network automation.
  • Take the lead on producing and maintaining relevant infrastructure documentation and diagrams.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • CCNP Routing & Switching certification would be advantageous.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrating initiative and an ability to apply a lateral thought process to problem resolution.
  • A desire to make positive change, recognising where improvements can be made and driving them forwards.
  • Flexible approach to work with willingness to work flexible hours as required.
  • Highly articulate with excellent written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and possibly overseas to other offices.

Desired experience with:

  • Designing and implementing Cisco SD WAN (Viptella), Cisco SD Access
  • Experience with Legacy Cisco networking and day-to-day network monitoring and management.
  • In depth understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OMP, OSPF)
  • Experience in Azure/AWS and Cisco ISE would be beneficial.
  • Any experience in programming for network automation and a knowledge of Cisco Firepower, Stealthwatch, VMware and Umbrella would be well received.
