IT Support Engineer / Service Desk Technician required for my client based in central Reading for a 3 month contract, rate £120-150 p/d.
This role falls inside IR35
You, along with the team will handle the initial first point of contact for all technical incidents and requests from the business, offering a professional, courteous, speedy and effective service to ensure disruption to business processes and clients are kept to a minimum.
o Ensure that incidents and problems logged on call logging system are responded to quickly, professionally and courteously, ensuring that calls are correctly prioritised and categorised.
o Provide remote support across sites.
o Ensure computing facilities are kept secure to reduce the risk of breaches of confidentiality, integrity and availability.
o Ensuring the Service Desk Team's documentation is kept up to date.
o Ability to build, test and deploy laptops.
o Act as a mentor to the team members, providing guidance and training as required to resolve outstanding issues.
o Excellent Customer facing and Customer Service skills, able to communicate to users at all levels.
o Thrive in a busy environment with changing priorities and goals.
o Good level of understanding of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment including GPO.
o Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the major Microsoft packages namely Microsoft Windows and Office 365.
o Good level of understanding of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting.
o Current IT qualification, preferably Microsoft, or be able to demonstrate the equivalent experience and knowledge.
o Be able to demonstrate excellent problem management skills.
o Excellent time management.
o Good level of understanding of a virtualised computing environment, preferably VMware.
o Expert level of understanding of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment.
o Expert level of understanding of the latest Microsoft Exchange technologies.
o Any of the following IT qualifications; CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), ITIL foundation
