Role Overview This Senior Scientist I role is a thought leadership position within RSSL's Functional Ingredient's department, utilising chromatography techniques - primarily LC-MS, HPLC and Ion Chromatography - conduct routine and investigative analyses on a range of pharmaceutical and food products to GMP and UKAS regulations, providing method development and problem solving complex cases. While it does not directly line manage, it is a senior position within the team responsible for providing expertise to other members of the lab. How you will contribute You will provide technical direction and leadership-which includes training and mentoring junior team members-in the laboratory to ensure that complex projects are completed on time and with the appropriate analytical and regulatory standards. In this role, you will review and approve scientific reports, method development and validations, authorize competencies in your area of expertise and independently perform complex method development and design validations protocols. In addition, you will maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment, ensure a clean, tidy and safe working environment, and perform and approve risk assessments. Excellent communication skills will be required of you because you will write technical reports, check data, offer interpretations of results and interact with internal and external holders using influencing and presentation skills to present project proposals and results. In addition this role will also involve investigative and routine analysis of products using chromatography techniques. Indepentently manage workload and train junior members of the team as required. Client contact and administrative support for laboratory management. Education / Certifications: Educated to Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience in a laboratory. Job specific requirements Technical Perform successful method development using both LCMS & HPLC on complex matrices. Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results. Provide Technical direction within own area of expertise within the team. Perform a range of analysis using liquid chromatography techniques independently. Design and perform complex method development and validation protocols. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment. Provide Technical direction within own area of expertise within the team. Perform data checking and provide interpretation of results for routine testing. Generate certificate analysis or external interpretive reports. A large NHS trust based in central London are actively seeking a Senior SQL Developer to join a small but tight knit team to increase performance of databases, data and Business Intelligence internally. This is a pivotal role within one of the largest London based NHS firms, and provides exciting opportunity for progression as well as exposure to some of the latest database and Business Intelligence tools in the market today.
Our NHS client have set aside band 7 budget to hire an experience Senior SQL Developer to redevelop and improve existing processes, data quality and timescales across the board. This position will interact with a range of stakeholders across the firm, ensuring that your role will be refreshing and valuable.
You will be implementing and working with some of the most in-demand analytical tools including QlikView.
We are ideally seeking a SQL Developer with the following experience:
* An expert in SQL, T-SQL and similar scripting languages
* Solid Data experience: Data Mining, Data Quality, Data Manipulation
* Comfortable developing database structures and complex data sets
Beneficial, but not essential experience
* Knowledge of at least one Business Intelligence tool. QlikView preferred but others will be considered such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, BOARD
The Senior SQL Developer role will, on a day to day basis, include optimising database performance, developing training packages / tools for internal staff, overall mantainence as well as broader analysis / design / build / test / roll out of various systems.
