Looking for 2 years’ experience.
Working knowledge of SQL server
DUTIES AND TASKS PERFORMED:
Exercise technical expertise in all aspects of a solution, involving interface design.
Liaise with the Database Administrator regarding the database design.
Develop and implement robust and secure solutions using good working practices and compliance to appropriate standards;
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for solutions in accordance with specifications and service level agreements;
Provide knowledge and assistance to other team members when required;
Comment on the feasibility of prospective solutions and ideas and make authoritative recommendation.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing applications and sites;
Liaise with the Business Analyst & IT Trainer to produce the appropriate documentation and specific training materials;
Perform routine updates to Geldards applications.
Aim to ensure delivery of solutions within specified time constraints and report on overruns or expected overruns in line with the appropriate project management.
Use applicable design methodologies and tools within projects.
Complete project/project stages within the agreed timescales.
Test the project before releasing to the UAT Team for formal testing.
Ensure all Geldards solutions are compatible with all external systems and platforms.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High level programming and related technical skills (especially c#.NET, VBA, IIS, & all MS Office tools).
Have working knowledge of SQL Server
Have a working knowledge of Team Foundation Server.
Have a working knowledge of relational database systems.
Have an understanding of Scrum and Agile programming methodologies.
Have a knowledge of SharePoint, MVC and K2 if possible, although not a pre-requisite
Working knowledge of storyboarding or prototyping tools such as Balsamiq.
Ingenuity and creativity.
Logical approach to problem-solving.
Analytical capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure.
Attention to detail.
Communication skills - including the ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and understandable way.

At Black Sun we have a growing IT team and we are searching for an energetic Senior Desktop Support Analyst to manage, enhance and run our Group’s ‘front of house’ environment. This role requires close consultation with the various business stakeholders to understand and cater for the existing issues and future aspirations of the business – therefore we need someone who is comfortable working with senior management. You will also be responsible for the effective management of incidents, service requests and problems across the organisation; the provision of second and third line operational support relating to desktops, laptops and mobile devices; and to ensure timely and efficient resolution of incidents, service requests and problems. You will be supported by a Junior IT Administrator as well as the broader IT team.
Your qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in an IT business support role
-Expert knowledge of and proven experience with both Mac and Windows. Mac support skills are an essential requirement
- In-depth technical knowledge of desktop system software and hardware (Mac & Windows) as well as mobile devices, telecommunications, peripherals, security, applications, client server software and system tools
- Experience of Active Directory, Exchange
- An extensive background of managing the end user IT desktop service with strong OSX skills
- A background in ITIL service management and implementation
- Some experience mentoring junior team members would be preferable
- Personality fit: we’d love to find someone who is flexible and team focused, with a non-hierarchical and ‘roll up your sleeves’ approach to getting the job done. And someone with a great sense of humour!!
