About the Opportunity: Jacobs is currently recruiting for an EC&I Engineer to join our nuclear power business. Our team focuses on design and implementation of control and safety systems in the nuclear industry delivering projects from requirements capture through to installation and commissioning on nuclear facilities. There are many opportunities within the nuclear industry and a significant demand for EC&I Engineers to join Jacobs to help on projects both nationally and internationally across a diverse range of clients. This role will be delivered from our Newcastle upon Tyne office. We put flexibility at the heart of what we do and we're happy to consider flexible working patterns, part-time hours and remote working. The post is for those with post graduate experience delivering EC&I activities preferably within regulated industries. Candidates will be familiar with the delivery of EC&I engineering activities such as producing engineering plans, technical reports and specifications with an ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities: Full life-cycle development from requirements capture through to installation and commissioning. Detailed design of either hardware or software of control or protection systems Systems integration, test and validation of control, PLC, SCADA and simulator systems Ability to work with limited supervision whilst delivering tasks to quality, schedule and budget. Here's What You'll Need: Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical Engineering) or successful completion of a relevant apprentice scheme. Ability to work in the UK and eligible to gain BPSS and CTC vetting (minimum security clearance). Evidence of working towards application for either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body. Awareness of software-based control systems (e.g. PLCs, FPGAs, SMART Components, SCADA, HMIs, DCSs, DPSs) Experience of producing detailed engineering documentation. The ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong communication skills.
