IT Application Support and SQL Database Analyst

Lincoln

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

c£40k per annum plus annual bonus incentive

Our Lincoln based client uses an ERP system to facilitate the supply process, and offers online and IVR functionality to its customers to enable self-service. They have a Microsoft-centric IT environment and are looking for the right candidate to provide support to the company, ensuring that the systems run smoothly at all times. Candidates must be willing to undertake some evening and weekend IT Support cover, and occasionally may need to travel to the premises of the company's suppliers.

Duties include;

  • Delivering support to existing business users and investigating and resolving application errors, data discrepancies and queries
  • Working with third-party support companies on the development and implementation of system enhancements to overcome known problems or improve the user experience
  • Database Administration - undertake a range of SQL Server administration tasks including managing permissions, creating SQL queries, designing SSRS Reports, archiving data, setting up test environments, managing scheduled tasks, backing up databases (SQL), tracking database performance, log file management and database replication
  • Application Administration - undertake a range of administration tasks including monitoring and tracking performance uptime and capacity

In order to be considered for the role candidates must have;

  • Two years plus support exposure with experience of SQL and SSRS
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification would also be an advantage
  • Good understanding of SQL Server Agent and MS Task Scheduler
  • Methodical and analytical approach
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and communication skills
  • Some experience of MS NAV and working knowledge of Visual basic would be helpful but is not essential

Understanding of web technologies inc. IIS, .NET and Process automation e.g. EDI, FTP, web scraping is desirable
