The role is supporting our officers and staff IT requirements across both Kent and Essex Police force, via remote software, MS Teams, phone and face to face. Supporting front line officers and staff is vitally important, so patience, tact and positivity is required, to put our operational officers at ease and be able to work through their problems with them. Working for a collaborative department, you may be required to travel to other Police sites within county, therefore a valid driving licence is essential.

The Felsted IT Services team is a critical and integral part of the Felsted community and the role of the IT Engineer is to manage the complex challenges of scale that are unique to Felsted’s technically intricate ecosystem. With the recent appointment of a Director of Digital Strategy, it is an exciting time to be joining Felsted and the ICT department.
The main duties of the role are to design, install and test hardware, software and networks and maintain the IT asset tracker plus partner with the leadership team on system forecasts and critical issues affecting the IT systems.
A degree in a Computer Science related area of study would be desirable, or equivalent practical experience, together with extensive knowledge and experience with OS administration, hardware systems, OS internals on Windows and *nix systems, as is knowledge of networks, networking security systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate problem-solving, collaborative and communications skills together with the ability to interpret and analyse information to create meaningful reports.
This role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, all-year round. The post holder is required to work one Saturday per month during term-time and be on-call as per the department’s rota. The starting salary for this role is c.£30,000 per annum (depending on skills, knowledge and experience) plus there is a call-out allowance of £133.19 per month (£1,598.28 per annum). The Felsted IT Services team is a critical and integral part of the Felsted community and the role of the IT Engineer is to manage the complex challenges of scale that are unique to Felsted’s technically intricate ecosystem. Software Engineer Location: Bournemouth Salary: £40-45k Working Pattern: Hybrid after Probation Please note that this role does not offer sponsorship options. Due to our client's expansion plans, we are currently seeking 2 x Software Test Engineers to join their Software Engineering team. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing, integrating, and deploying software within our client s systems. Responsibilities include: Developing new software features and applications within an Agile Software development framework. Generating comprehensive technical documentation summarizing completed work. Operating software-controlled hardware imaging, movement, and measurement components. Investigating and resolving bugs in established and evolving software applications. Collaborating on the breakdown of new software features into actionable work items and estimating associated time and complexity. Maintaining and enhancing unit testing coverage to ensure software platform stability. Coordinating with a multi-disciplined R&D team to ensure favourable product outcomes. Proactively refactoring existing code to mitigate technical debt. Essential Experience: 2+ Years C#/.Net Development experience in a commercial setting (time spent on student projects or whilst studying will not be considered as eligible experience) Desirable Experience: Familiarity with testing Windows desktop software applications (WPF). Experience with SQL-backed applications. Exposure to system APIs, firmware, and/or automated control systems. Previous involvement in business-oriented Agile environments. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks. Understanding and practice of working in, and testing solutions for, regulatory-compliant environments.
